Ischia Island

It’s hard not to be seduced by the laid-back elegance of Ischia, a small volcanic island lying off the coast of Naples. The air is perfumed with the scent of the sea, pine forests and fragrant gardens. The thermal hot bubbling springs are a natural phenomena widely known for their therapeutic benefits, and the island’s sandy beaches and natural coves make Ischia the perfect destination to revitalise the mind, body and soul.

Getting There

Even arriving to Villa Torre dell’Aquila is an unforgettable experience. Situated just 30 kilometres off the coast of Naples, you’ll arrive to the island by ferry or private boat. From Naples harbour (Napoli Beverello) you can take an Alilauro ferry to arrive at Forio d’Ischia which is the nearest harbour to Torre dell’Aquila. Other harbours in the island are Casamicciola and Ischia town.

If you are touring the Costa Amalfitana you can also reach Ischia with a ferry from Amalfi, Positano or Salerno. And no matter in which Ischia harbour you will arrive, they are all a short drive distance from the villa. Our hostess on site we will pick you up and take you home, this service is our treat!

Next a short car journey past the island’s colourful towns and villages, and stunning scenery. The road up to Villa Torre dell’Aquila passes the homes of many celebrities, including the famous residence of the composer William Walton. The estate’s garden, Giardini della Mortella, was inspired by a lifetime’s love story and is one of the most beautiful Mediterranean-style gardens you’ll ever set eyes upon.
